August 2006

Dear Terrie, Dave and Naish,

Thank you so much for letting us stay in your awesome condo! We had a fantastic vacation! Some of our highlights of our trip were kayaking and snorkling with the turtles. The company we went with was "Maui Eco Tours"; a must for anyone that loves to snorkle! The road to Hana is always a beautiful adventure worth doing! Also, my husband and son enjoyed golfing the Emerald golf courses! My daughter enjoyed having the tropical shave Ices every day of our vacation, Freds great breakfast, and awesome fish tacos. The Five Palms for dinner has beautiful sunsets, views and great food! The Seawatch at the Emerald Golf Course has great breakfast! Don't forget Lapperts ice cream- my kids favorite! Thanks again.

July 2006:

Mahalo! Mahalo! Mahalo! To our wonderful ambassadors of aloha here on Maui.....Terrie, Dave and Naish.

From the moment we stepped into this beautiful condo, we felt a warmth and hominess that is rare in any vacation destination. We feel so honored to have been able to share your home. Mahalo for the special welcome! We spent an active and enjoyable nine days celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary.

-Sailed on America II-WOW! what fun!
-Biked down Haleakala after watching the sunrise (Well worth it!!!)
-Snorkeled and scuba'ed at Molikini
-Drove south through the lava fields (kind of erie!)
-Drove north past Kapalua up into the mountains (absolutely breathtaking!)
-Saw the Dana Daniels and Annabelle show (Warren is on a 3-week vacation) very funny.
-Recommitted ourselves to one another at sunset dowm at Makena Beach (beautiful and very meaningful).
-Spa massages at the Grand Wailea-WOW, A MUST.

We also enjoyed great eating:

-Joes
-Five Palms
-Freds-great breakfast!
-Kimo's (LaHaina)
-Marcos (great prawns special!)
-Ruth's Chris
-Tuna and filet on the grill!!!
-Charley's great for breakfast-over in Pa'ia (after our Haleakala adventure).

We survived having the outside painted and the delivery of the new bedroom set (which is gorgeous and now we don't feel like we'll fall through the end of the mattress**)! You were so very gracious through it all, Dave, Terrie and Naish, and we were thrilled to get a chance to get to know you and see your new place. We cannot thank you enough! Continued good fortune to you. God bless.

Don and Lisa , Lake Zurich, IL

PS. We'll be back

**Owners note: We had purchased our new California King bedroom set before the Whestone party checked in, and there was a large gap between the mattress and the bedframe...it looked like the bedframe was too big for the mattress. SO, we exchanged it for a different bedroom set (the Teak one that we currently have), and had it delivered during the Whetstone's stay with us.

If we come back to Maui ourselves we will definitely come back to your condo....and we'll recommend it to others! Thanks again for helping to make our vacation a special one.

Terrie and Dave,

Great condo and great place to stay. Thanks for keeping the condo so well maintained! We had the perfect wedding in Maui and did several fun activities with all of our guests. Sailing on the west side of Maui, Deep Sea fishing, spa treatments, skorkeling were all big hits and w would recommend them to anyone staying in Hawaii. The pool is also a lot of fun. The Seawatch Restaurant has great breakfast and views and Mulligans on the Blue is a very fun spot to hang out at. Thanks again.

Terrie and Dave-

What a beautiful and well maintained condo! It definitely "made" our trip to have a place so convenient, well-located (especially right over the pool) and well-stocked with all the amenities of home. You guys have certainly thought of everything!

We loved the Maui Ocean Center as our 2 kids were too small to snorkle so it was like snorkeling without the hassle or mess :)

The BBQ below was great for grilling fish, chicken, and steaks. We will definitely come back and recommend this to our friends.

Hi Terrie and Dave!

We had a fantastic time in Maui as always. We LOVE your condo. We've never gone the condo route but now we see the many benefits (i.e. more room, ability to cook). Your condo in particular impressed us with its luxurious feeling, and it's so CLEAN. We hope to come back again and we'll definitely look up your condo and stay in Wailea!

Thanks for making our first wedding anniversary a wonderful and memorable experience.

Cheers!

Nov. 2005: My husband and I enjoyed our stay at your condo. It was clean, light and very nice.  The sunsets were wonderful.  I enjoyed the shops and the beaches were "great" from rocky to Sand. They all had something special.

I did go on the Atlantis sub ride. It was not very good , not much color and few fish.  The sun is very hot used sun protection at all times.   We try different fruits and some are very good.  We opened our own coconuts.  We enjoyed this.  I hope you have as "GREAT" a time as we had.

Nov. 2005: My Husband and I have enjoyed our two weeks at the Grand Champions Villa so much!  The condo is wonderful-light and airy with a homey feeling.  Everything we needed was provided--all we needed was our clothes and any food we wanted.  The bed was very comfortable with a beautiful view over looking the pool and lovely gardens. Every evening we enjoyed the sunset from the deck as it set over the ocean.

We enjoyed the sunrise on Haleakali Crater at 10,000 feet-----a two hour drive and very cold and windy, but a wonderful experience.  The road to Hana shows a very different side of the island. Tropical water falls and very interesting villages along the way. We took many photos.  Beaches here are so different, rocky are usually  great for snorkeling or sandy beaches to swim and just enjoy the sun.  My favorite is Wailea Beach near the condo. The Aloha maps of Hawaii helped us to get around and another great resource is "Maui Revealed" by Andrew Doughty. We found a copy at a shop called "Hilo Hattie's".

Nov. 2005: When we decided to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary in Maui we did not realize how great it would be.  This condo is wonderful, bright, sunny, and so clean and fresh.  The living room is very nice and the beds comfortable. The bathrooms are large and there is great water pressure for our showers. We could not have found a better place to stay! I love the sunsets from the lanai overlooking the ocean and enjoyed the early mornings as we sat there and watched the sunrise as we enjoyed our morning coffee.  We loved driving through the lava fields and enjoyed big Beach for it's surf and sand beach.  Be sure to get up early around 3am and head up to see the sunrise at the top of Haleakala Crater.  Take the jackets it is very cold up there.  The road to Hana is a must do.  You almost need two days.  A good guide book is "Maui Revealed" by Andrew Doughty, not only for the road to Hana but for the whole island.  Do not miss driving through the lava fields.  We came to snorkel and found the rock beach in Ahihi-Kinau Natural Area Reserve excellent.  Drive past Big Beach until you enter the lava fields. There is a large parking area on the right  were an information table is located.  Walk down to the ocean and enter the water on the far side of the beach.  There is a sandy area there.  Swim out to the left, you will think you are swimming in an aquarium.  Another good snorkeling spot was Honolua bay up past Lahaina.  This was the first place we swam with the turtles.  Lahaina is a fun place to shop.  Very busy but lots of little shops. We also went to the Tropical Plantation. Skip the tram tour, you can see all the plants as you walk through the gardens.  We did have lunch there. It was very good and reasonable.  We will not wait another 40 years to come back maybe next year!!!!        Enjoy Maui--- We sure did!!
